In this region the land is porous, so every drop of rain that falls filters through the limenstone, dragging with it minerals of the earth to form espectacular Stalagmites and Stalagtites, into an extensive underground river system that flows to the ocean.

Formed exclusively in this part of the world these sinkholes (fresh water pools) or cenotes are situated in the jungle, very close to Playa del Carmen, and all along the Mayan Riviera Mexico.
